Job Description The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the power plant and the associated facilities.
The I&E Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems.
Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.
Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to maintain plant reliability.
Assist in physical inventories.
Inspect repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries, and work with electrical systems up to and including 4160 volts.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY The I&E Technician encounters recurring work situations of high complexity, with occasional variations from the norm.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The I&E Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager, works in cooperation with the operating utility on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the plant and responds to direction from the Plant Manager in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program.
This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post employment random drug screening.
There are extensive tobacco use restrictions in and around the facility.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Must have excellent organizational skills.
Experience in working with voltages up to 4160 volts highly desired.
